Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration
The family room addition is seamlessly woven into the fabric of the existing home.
The outdoor living space of the home was enhanced by a flagstone patio with low stone walls and craftsman inspired lighting.
The new family room with authentic wood windows, fireplace with masonry surround and traditional furnishings makes the room feel like it has been there for 100 years!
The new family room has direct access to the existing dining room and side porch. (The family room is also connected to the kitchen with a new powder room and pantry.)
A view from the new family room into the existing dining room.(The existing window opening became a cased opening with traditional hardwood moulding.)
The existing floor plan reveals a traditional four-square layout. Common to homes of the early 20th Century, each room was a small compartment with a specific purpose.
The proposed floor plan illustrates how the new rooms are well integrated in the existing home.
